If you have never considered a cruise vacation, now is the time to do it! With prices for most things rising left and right, cruise pricing has stayed steady or better, with many cruise lines running great specials all the time. With the drop in COVID restrictions, anyone can freely cruise to just about any destination. Cruises can be a great deal for someone looking for a fun filled getaway on a budget. I personally love cruising! For my very first cruise, I went on a four-night cruise to the Bahamas for my honeymoon. A few years later, I went on an amazing seven-night Southern Caribbean cruise with some friends. I cannot wait to cruise again, in fact, I am headed out on a cruise next week! Many cruise ships these days are very large, which means there are tons of things to see and do, and my favorite, eat! Of course there are buffets, but there are also restaurants with unique fusion cuisine, plus there are specialty restaurants to celebrate that special occasion onboard! There are also plenty of activities to keep you busy. Take a dip in the pool on the main deck. Visit one of the many bars and ask the bar tender to mix you up a new libation to try. If you prefer some action; jump onto the water slide, hop into a go cart, buckle up in the open-air roller coaster, or see if you can withstand the waves of the surf-rider. There is so much fun to be had on a cruise, you will probably run out of time before you run out of activities.
Cruises are also great because you can keep it simple or you can go all out, kind of like a choose your own adventure! You can just relax and soak up the sun and fun, or you can add in all kinds of extra tours and really dig into the destinations you are visiting! For example, while in Barbados, we did an excursion to a chocolate factory! We were able to experience the process from start to finish on how to make chocolate, plus a little taste at the end.
And don’t forget the onboard entertainment! After dinner, head to the show. Some ships offer Las Vegas style shows, while other offer more Broadway style shows. Some ships even have game shows where you can compete and win prizes! You will never get board with the variety of opportunity aboard a cruise ship. The ship will provide a daily schedule with a list of all the activities and entertainment and other important information for the day, that way you don’t miss out on a single thing!
